Elizabeth grew up in Maine and New Hampshire, spending her summers at Popham Beach, Maine. The midcoast region of Maine has been the inspiration for most of her work.
Graduating from Skidmore College with a BS degree, majoring in graphic arts, she began her journey as an artist. Following graduation, she competed nationally for and won a scholarship to study fashion illustration at Traphagen School of Design in New York City. This period of her career found her in New York City for several years. Soon after, marriage and raising a family became the focus of her life. However, she continued to paint recreationally, reveling in the beauty around her.
Elizabeth later became employed with the Federal Government at the National Cancer Institute, part of the National Institutes of Health as a Visual Information Specialist. Working with writers, designers and printers in the creation and production of hundreds of printed materials for the public and health professionals each year gave her a unique perspective into printed material and art.
Now retired, she lives in Phippsburg, Maine. She has worked in oil and watercolor but more recently her interest is mostly pastels and oil. She is a member of the Pastel Painters of Maine, the Pastel Society of New Hampshire, the Kennebec Art Club, and the Boothbay Region Art Foundation She has had paintings accepted by the Chocolate Church in Bath for their juried summer shows, by the Pastel Society of New Hampshire in Enfield, NH and Newport NH, for their juried New England shows, "It's Pastel" and in 2009 for their first National Juried Exhibition at the Discover Portsmouth Center Gallery in Portsmouth, NH. In 2008 her work was chosen for the Alumni Reunion exhibition at the Tang Museum of Art at Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, NY.
